$500/Day

I’m addicted to trading Futures now.

I didn’t have the guts to do it for the past year.  I’ve watched them, I’ve papertraded them.  My strategy for entering and exiting trades really isn’t any different than what I do when I trade options.  Its just a LOT faster.  I’m only trading one contract, which requires a 10pt move to make $500.  The past few days, we have gotten crazy swings, so as soon as a key retracement level is hit, I jump in.  I’ve been using the free emails from the Retracement Levels website.  It’s downright eery how precise they are!  Check out today’s newsletter.

History Repeats Itself

I was 10 years old the last time the real estate market crashed in 1986.  I don’t remember much, other than my mother telling me “this is why you have to get good grades, go to college and get a steady job with a pension.”  I minored in economics at American University, and learned about the Tax Reform Act  of 1986.  It was the beginning of the transfer of wealth from employees and self-employed persons to business owners and investors.

Trading the Stock Market

This is precisely why I hit mute when watching CNBC.

I had my BEST day in the market today.  EVER.

Thankfully stripping is a night time job, so the only time I don’t have access to my trade station is when I force myself to go to the gym during Wall Street’s Lunch Hour.  By the time I finish with my 90 minute daily workout, I can sip a Muscle Milk Lite shake and watch the close.

The Best Way to Wake Up…

is $2950 richer.

This isn’t a trading blog, and I’m by far not an expert…but I’m happy with my profits in a week.  It took GOOG 10 months to climb from $450 to $700, but less than 2 months to fall from $700 to $450.  I don’t have the patience to “buy and hope”   I didn’t even have the patience to hold the 700 put I bought back in January!  I took profits on that when GOOG hit 600 (sigh..coulda shoulda woulda)  So my non-investing stripperella friends, this is one method to make money when the stock market goes down.

Having the time during the day to sit and watch the market is another reason why I have not returned to teaching elementary school.  I LOVE working nights: I have no problem scheduling appointments, I drive against the rush hour traffic, and if/when I have kids I can be with them until they go to bed.

Off to enjoy the 75 degree sunny day!  Mom told me the East Coast got hit with another snow storm last night.  As I always say…..”Philly is a great place to be from, not in or at.”  I will be hitting the Jersey Shore this summer, as always.

Spring Training Kicks off Today be sure to get your cut of the $310.8 Million dollars it brings to the Valley.

I am a market junkie

Here I am at 6am, planning my method of attack for my brokerage account.  Hmmm, if I had held my puts over the weekend and NOT gone long on Friday anticipating the bounce, I could retire tomorrow.  Coulda woulda shoulda….oh well.  This is going to be quite a learning experience for me.  At least I’m not as bad off as this guy who lost 31K in futures yesterday.  I did sell the Feb 650 put as the lower leg of my monthly high probability $RUT iron condor trade.  Ow.  This is my “this trade only get fu$%*d up if Armageddon happens” account.  It has worked well over the past few months, but this is the one month when all my wins are wiped out by one loss.  Lets see if 650 support on the $RUT holds.

Animal House

Since I don’t have human children, I have eight animals in my house.  They are much easier than humans.  When Vinnie and I want to take off for the weekend, we just have to call “Aunt Mary” our petsitter.  She has the keys to our house and has watched over our brood since we met her at Gilbert’s Bark-toberfest in 2003.

Mixed Bag of Thoughts

I’m underwater on my Index Bear Call Spreads (I know, you told me so Doug!)  They are still out of the money, my strike price hasn’t been broken, but I haven’t seen the correction I need to buy them back for profit.  I’m glad I’m long BIDU (up $35 in ONE DAY!)LVS FCX POT AAPL CAM and some other great movers.  I took half of my profits on GRMN on Friday.  Lost the other half of my unrealized gain when it tumbled on Monday.  Got out with a $40 loss instead of a $900 gain.  I guess that’s why they call it “unrealized gain”  Sometimes I have a hard time distinguishing between greed and letting my winners run.  I had a profit target of 125 on GRMN.  It was at 120.  I was soooo tempted to take my 300% gain, but all my indicators (and my rules) told me to stay in the trade.  I guess I need to put my perfectionism aside, and be happy with a 150% profit in a week.
