it feels weird. I’m never home on Friday night. I have an overwhelming urge to paint my face, do my hair, dress up in glamourous rhinestone gowns, and then take them off for random strangers. If I was your ordinary housewife that sentence would sound strange.
One thing about taking a long block of time off is that I look forward to going back to work. After a few days I start to miss my friends. I miss the music. I miss the cool regulars who are happy to see me after a long day. And, in the most warped sense…I don’t really miss the creeps I run across at work…but the creeps, jackasses, and weirdos are the ones that make this job interesting and give me funny stories to tell. No, I’m not sad, I just suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder. This is precisely the reason I choose to live in a place that boasts 340 days a year of sunshine. Today is one of those rare 25 days of rain…sigh…..
I do things that are very out of character when it rains. This morning I cut my workout short, neglecting my 30 minutes of cardio after 1 hour of weights. Then I convinced Vinnie to stop at Sonic for a milkshake and french fries. There’s nothing like dipping greasy salty french fries in a black/white shake at the drive-in on a rainy day in the comfort of heated leather seats. I hate being sick. This is the 2nd time in two months I’ve caught a cold.
Despite my illness, I couldn’t miss my date with Diego last night. Diego is one of my all time favs. We’ve known each other for almost three years. He’s one of those special strip club patrons who has slowly morphed into a friend over the years. I don’t have to lie to him, or play the silly “Oh no! I don’t have a boyfriend! tee hee!” game to get him to come into the club to spend money on me (what…strippers do that???) When he has time to spare and money to blow, he lets me know he’s stopping in…and I make sure I’m there.

There is just something weird about putting on heavy black eyeliner and false eyelashes on Sunday afternoon.
Today was that one Sunday that keeps me trying the Sunday shift over and over again. I totally rocked the house. I started at 5:15 and was intending on “just” catching the after the football game crowd, and had hopes of jetting out by 10pm.
