Day 3 of 9

I’m in the first trimester of my longest work stint yet. Thus my posts have not been very original.

I was expecting the same fabulous forty and over crowd this week for FBR. That hasn’t been the case, and thus my first two nights were not stellar. Keep in mind, they were profitable which is essential for keeping a business going considering the plethora of businesses like the nations 2nd largest electronics retailer Circuit City which could not turn a profit.

The attitude we project at work is essential to success. Even if you think you are projecting a positive attitude, it doesn’t matter if the customer doesn’t interpret it that way.

Strippers in the Mainstream MSN News

Sex sells, but less than before
The downturn has been hard on smut vendors and strippers.

Playboy, that iconic purveyor of bunnies, hasn’t flashed its fourth-quarter results yet, but the writing is on the wall. Last week, Hugh Hefner’s company announced job cuts. More ominously, it is writing down at least $100 million in assets.

This is troubling because under accounting rules, companies must take assets off the books when they are deemed worthless because they won’t produce revenue. So Playboy is “telling you what financial performance will look like for the next year,” and it is saying it’s going to be bad, says one analyst who follows the company.

New Year’s Exercise

I did this little exercise two weeks ago at Leadership Acceleration Training.

Make Two Lists

What I truly Want in Life What I Have

Are the things on your list different?

Now, this may sting for some of you….but YOU HAVE EXACTLY WHAT YOU DESERVE.

Whether you want to attribute this to God, Jehovah, L. Ron Hubbard, The Secret, or whatever higher power…you get back what you put out there.

If you want something different in life, you need to do different things, hang out with different people, try something else.

Repeating the same action over and over again, yet expecting a different result is the definition of insanity.

Rain

Only in Arizona does a spring shower mean “Stay at home!” And yes, it’s springtime here: the roses in my front yard are in full bloom and over six feet tall!

Babe’s Cabaret was slow. Of course, I was not on the top of my game either. The antihistamines made my head dizzy, and I was constantly straining my voice just to maintain normal conversation. I met some really nice folks from Portland early in the night though. The slight drizzle didn’t deter them from driving into Scottsdale from the golf resort.

Busy Day

This will be a short post, as I have a busy day scheduled.

Got stopped out of my long futures contracts with a profit, Financials aren’t doing much at all, but my long oil plays are shaping up! Again, this absolutely nothing to do with stripping, but MY JOB/BUSINESS DOESN’T DEFINE ME! Although I will be at Babe’s Cabaret on Scottsdale Road this weekend!

I’ve been fighting a cold, and it’s winning.

Awesome Day!

I always work on the nights I have a good day trading the markets.

I bought two S&P 500 futures contracts this morning at 806. For my non-trader friends, that means I make $100 for every point the S&P 500 climbs. Those contracts are now trading at 837.50 So I made $3150 sitting at my computer today for a few hours.

This is an example of leveraging the I quadrant. There isn’t a job in the world that will pay me $3k a day to sit at my computer, flip between www.slopeofhope.com, www.stripperweb.com, www.exoticdancernet.com, and sip my coffee. A great day like this doesn’t happen often. I do love my Wednesdays though, I don’t have to teach a fitness class in the morning, so I can sleep in and catch up on the markets.

Barrett Jackson/NFC Championship Game Day 6

Post Image

Someone asked me how Panda got his blog name. He picked it. In his own words “Because everyone thinks pandas are so cute and so sweet….but get into the cage with ‘em and….they’re still A BEAR!”

Babes Cabaret was a sea of Red Cardinals Jerseys at 7pm on Sunday Night. After all these years, there is still just something weird about being in a strip club on Sunday night! Oh well, they were drunk and spending their bet money.

Happy New Year!

I was kinda right about last night, except for the Insight Bowl Rush.  I talked to one table of Minnesota Fans who said that the stadium was only half full and the game didn’t really “count” for anything.  Sports fans crack me up…being a non-sports fan no game really “counts” for anything to me.  All perspective.

Record numbers of strippers seen

The worst economic crisis in decades has record numbers of strippers showing up in Las Vegas.

“We’ve had as many as 400 working at one time,” said Shai Cohen, director of marketing for Sapphire, which is billed as the world’s largest gentlemen’s club.

An even larger turnout is likely next month when 140,000 convention attendees show up for the annual porn trade show and the Consumer Electronic Show.

“We have seen a lot of new faces,” said Cohen. Before the economy started diving last summer, 250 to 300 girls would arrive at the 70,000-square-foot club.

Another Sleepless Night

Well, not really.  I went to bed at 8pm, so it makes sense that I would wake up at 4am.  I have such a strong circadian rhythmn, that I’m up at the crack of dawn whenever I go on vacation.  It is especially tough in the summertime since Arizona doesn’t observe daylight savings time and the crack of dawn comes at 5:15 am.  Even in Vegas with the blinds drawn tightly shut, my body won’t let me sleep past 10am.

So, I’ve had plenty of time to mindlessly surf the Internet.  Since the market is closed, I had the opportunity to search meaningless topics such as “Superbowl and Strippers”
