World of Concrete 2009

Is not as packed as World of Concrete 2008. I think that is par for the course for many of the conventions this year. Apparently Obama’s infrastructure overhaul has created lots of government initiatives and incentives that the concrete companies are scrambling over. Hopefully, they will be sealing deals in the VIP room the next few nights.

I overcame my mental obstacle yesterday. Often, my inspirational posts are an effort to re-program my own thinking. I was frustrated because The Whale cancelled on me last minute, and I was expecting an easy 10 hours in VIP over a few nights. I know, boo-hoo, poor SuperStripper…cry your eyes out for me. I honestly wanted to just turn around and go home with a bunch of excuses on why it wasn’t worth it to stay.

Contemplating the Boobs We Were

I’m really glad Kim Kiyosaki started blogging again (or…ahem… hired someone to write for her again) at www.richwoman.com

This was the entry from last week

I want to share with you an article that appeared in The New York Times
on December 28. The article is titled, “Contemplating the Boobs We Were”and was sent to me by Donald Trump. Donald has fully embraced his
role as a financial educator.

The author cleverly describes how
so many people became “boobs and easy marks” in the financial markets
and lost millions. He asks, “Are we doomed forever to be fleeced or is
there anything we can learn from this latest round of financial
catastrophe?” His answer:

Busy Day

This will be a short post, as I have a busy day scheduled.

Got stopped out of my long futures contracts with a profit, Financials aren’t doing much at all, but my long oil plays are shaping up! Again, this absolutely nothing to do with stripping, but MY JOB/BUSINESS DOESN’T DEFINE ME! Although I will be at Babe’s Cabaret on Scottsdale Road this weekend!

I’ve been fighting a cold, and it’s winning.

Awesome Day!

I always work on the nights I have a good day trading the markets.

I bought two S&P 500 futures contracts this morning at 806. For my non-trader friends, that means I make $100 for every point the S&P 500 climbs. Those contracts are now trading at 837.50 So I made $3150 sitting at my computer today for a few hours.

This is an example of leveraging the I quadrant. There isn’t a job in the world that will pay me $3k a day to sit at my computer, flip between www.slopeofhope.com, www.stripperweb.com, www.exoticdancernet.com, and sip my coffee. A great day like this doesn’t happen often. I do love my Wednesdays though, I don’t have to teach a fitness class in the morning, so I can sleep in and catch up on the markets.

Day FIVE Rocked!

Good things come to those who work their a$$ off….

Babe’s was steady all night long with Iggles Fans. I even resurrected my accent to trigger their Friendship Hot Button. I never had a very thick Philly accent, but at times water comes out “wood-er” and the plural of you is “yous” or “yous guys.”

Met a bunch of guys who drove down from Vegas to watch the Iggles play. Also ran into a guy who was the bouncer at Mr. J’s in Orange County. He was “too cool” to buy a dance. C’mon…just because you worked in the industry at some point doesn’t mean you’re too cool to purchase the service that once supported your own livelihood.

Barrett Jackson Day (sigh) Three!

I don’t normally work on Thursdays. I need a day of recovery to hit the Fri/Sat crowd with 110% effort. But since Barrett-Jackson is in town, and it’s easy money, I forced myself to go in. Decided to break in a new pair of shoes. It was time: every three months I put the old pair up for auction on ebanned.com and use the profits to buy a new pair of stripper shoes.

8pm: clock in. 3 customers. The lone Asian man sitting stage side tips me a dollar. He is in town from Hong Kong on business. His English is good, but the conversation is rather elementary. He buys two dances. No more worms for the early bird today.

2009: The Year of the Warrior

One of the motivational speakers from Acceleration Training this past weekend said something along the same lines as The Secret:

You have EXACTLY what you deserve in your life right now.

Therefore, if you don’t like what you’ve got, or you want more, YOU need to change something. Do something different, hang out with different people, break your bad habits! 2009 is the year of the warrior. Are you going to step up and make things happen, or are you going to quiver in fear?

Done

Done!

I just emailed my materials to Lia at Starlight for next week’s EDMBA Workshop.  Phew!!!!  I spent the last three days re-vamping the Dancerwealth Course Material for my interactive presentation.  I’m really excited for this!

I think I’ve found my niche.  One of the problems I had with teaching public school was the lack of appreciation.  The kids didn’t care, the parent’s didn’t care, I would work my butt off preparing lesson materials for some kid to waltz in the next day and defiantly say, “My mom said I didn’t have to do my homework because she didn’t understand it neither!”  I will bend over backwards to for someone who truly wants my help.

Regrets

A client asked me Saturday night if I regret going to college and graduate school for two degrees that I will never use.  From a purely financial standpoint, it was a complete waste of $130K.   If I had chosen to return to teaching in 2001, I would still be paying off student loans and credit card bills in effort to re-coup the cost of my higher education.  For many priviledged middle class individuals, college isn’t purely a financial decision…it’s just “what you do after you graduate high school.”  Thus, from a life experience standpoint, It was worth every penny.  I made some of my dearest friends in Letts Hall at AU.  Even though they may think I’m nuts; ever since I came clean about what I do for a living they have supported my decision to be a little different.

Stripping vs Minimum wage

Some Perspective

To the co-worker I heard bitching in the locker room about how she’d be better off working at BeBe where she’s “guaranteed to make money for going to work” and “can have a discount on clothes too!”

Minimum wage goes up Jan. 1

The Associated Press
Dec. 31, 2007 08:04 AM

PHOENIX – Minimum wage workers in Arizona are set to get a raise starting January 1.

The 15-cent per hour boost is automatic under the state’s voter-approved minimum wage law, bringing the new wage to $6.90 per hour. In each following year, wages will be adjusted based on increases in the cost of living.
