Have you ever tried to work out in a gym or at home before?

How long did it take for you to get into the groove?  Did you know exactly what to do in order to create that sleek toned body that you showcase on stage at night?  If you are genetically gifted….99% of most women in the world hate you.  But more than likely you did some reasearch, bought some magazines, or maybe even a program like p90x that taught you how to work out properly to get the results you want.

Once you bought the magazine, gym membership or dvd program…did you instantly turn into a hot toned mamacita?  Probably not!  It takes weeks of going back to the gym and doing the exercises over and over again to get the results you want.

How Does This Relate to Stripper School?

The how-to steps on what to do to make money stripping is like learning how to work out.  It is really pretty simple to learn and after doing it a couple of times it comes naturally.

Learning how to be a superstripper really IS that simple, but it’s only part of the equation.

The other part of the equation is a bit harder

• It’s consistently going to work and using the Colors System to Personality Profile
• It’s using strategic Persuasive Communication Strategies to get him to say yes
• Its using the Right Hot Buttons on the Right Guy at the Right Time
• It’s taking 20-30 minutes a week out of your life to hone your sales skills, even when you don’t want to
• Its sticking with it for the long term, even though in the beginning it is really hard, and you arseeing making the 1000/night you thought you were going to make just by showing up and looking good and it’s not as easy or glamorous as you thought it would be.
• It is all the reasons why some women become super strippers and others drop out to work minimum wage retail.

Yes, I know it would be great if you could go to work tomorrow, not have to ask anyone for a dance and Mr Moneybags just sweeps you into VIP.  It would be awesome if you could just show up to work looking good and know that even if you don’t try very hard you will walk out with several hundred dollars.

If all you ever focus on is the how-to, you will make more money stripping, build your bank account, and cross things off of your to-do list.

But it is not until you add the other part, your mindset, that you can start living your dream.

Different Effects for Different People

One thing I am asked all the time is “Will Your Stripper School Help Me?”

My immediate response is always “YES!”  And how quickly it can work for you is going to depend on YOU!

Look at anyone who is very successful over the long term: one of the constant factors in their personality is a desire to always be learning.  They definitely don’t use The Four Deadliest Words: “I Already Know That!”

Then there are the people who have had a little bit of success: they can recite all the lingo and sound like they know everything (and they certainly THINK they know everything) but they are completely closed off to anything that sounds remotely like anything they’ve heard before.  As a result, they remain in mediocrity.

Strip and Grow Rich is all about learning and growing.  We let go of our ego driven “I Already Know That” mindset when we started learning just as much from our 18 year old Bootcampers as they learned from us!

For YOU to get the most out of DancerWealth you will need to dump the “I Already Know This” mindset and acquire the “What can I learn from this?” one.

Some of the things we will be talking about yuou may have heard in some form or fashion.  However the way we apply it or present it will be unique and in some cases challenge the way you think and look at stripping….if you have that open, willing to learn mindset.

And in case you think you can get away with it, there is a second pair of deadly words that deserve their own blogpost, “Yeah….but….”

There are always people who have “reasons” why their situation is different.  Or why something doesn’t apply to them.  Or an excuse why something isn’t possible or can’t happen.

Those are the same people who go through life being a “but”

Don’t be one of them

There are four words that are SO deadly, that if you are using them, it guarantees you will NOT be successful as you want to be. If you have been stripping for a few years, I’ll bet you say this ALL the time…which makes them SUPER deadly.

What are those four words?

I ALREADY KNOW THAT.

As I am writing this, I can already hear you saying to yourself, “I already know all about this, why are we talking about it…just give me a good line to use tonight at work.”  Hold on girlfriend…you are using the 4 most deadly words to justify using the 4 most deadly words!

Stop.  Breathe….let me explain….

“I Already Know That”  are the four most deadly words because as soon as you THINK you know everything…it closes off your mind not only to the things that you THINK you know…but also to the things you don’t know.

It makes it impossible to learn new things, grow your awareness, and acheive greater successes and breakthroughs.

It keeps you stuck where you currently are in lifel, holds you back, and may even CAUSE your failure!

Most importantly, it is a completely EGO-BASED mindset.  You would rather think you are smart and know everything than be open to learning and growing.

I see this ALL the time in the dressing room at work.  Dancers with any level of success will go thinking thre is nothing new they can learn and chuckle when I say I run a stripper school.  “Oh…I’ve been dancing for 2 years, I already know what to do.”  They don’t even bother looking at the free stuff on the site because it would “be a waste of time.”  Instead they choose to hang out with the in the dressing room “networking” with the same people they already know.

Interestingly, thoe are the same girls that are getting the same results shift after shift…because they never learn and grow.  They let their ego keep them trapped.

I was talking to a dancer friend who told me 2010 has been her most profitable year stripping.  She started in 2007 back when making money stripping was “easy.”  She knew how to sell and only came to SuperStripper Bootcamp because it was a good way to get out of the cold weather and it was a good way to meet like-minded SuperStrippers (unlike the mostly flakey girls at her club)  Luckily, she was open minded, got the four most deadly words out of her vocabulary, and walked away with just as much value from what she learned as from from the people she met.

I used to be this way too!

I reflect back on my blog archives from 2007 when I wrote with an ego-driven attitude.  I always wanted to think that I knew everything, and my snarky strip club stories were how I justified my own point of view.

It made my ego feel good, I generated a following of blog readership.  The drawback was that since I was always “right” (since it was MY blog) .I wasn’t learning or growing.

Now…I am always looking to learn from anybody or any situation.  I wrote a blog entry about how much I learned from my Bootcampers…after my ego led me to believe that THEY were going to be learning from ME!

So What About the Things That You Already Know?

Good Question.  Let me use an example from my life.

When the movie The Secret came out, I had just finished reading Think and Grow Rich for the 3rd or 4th time, and had been to a life coaching seminar.  My first thought was….yep…you guessed it, the four most deadly words, but I added a fifth word onto the end “I already Know This Stuff!”

But instead of watching it with the closed mindset of The Four Most Deadly Words, I used the mindset of “What new things can I learn from this?”  It may not be a life changing discovery, but even small enhancements can produce amazing results over the long term.

And I did learn a lot of great new things about vibrations and quantum physics…and I was able to hold up my end of the conversation at cocktail parties when The Secret came up.

As I approach my 11 Year Anniversary of Stripping (which is TONIGHT by the way!!)  I have been reflecting on what makes the difference between a GREAT night and a crappy night.

It all comes down to internally generated CONFIDENCE   This feeling is contagious and guys love being around it! It stems from a mental state where everything comes to you effortlessly and easily.  You may have heard this before, on The Secret or one of the other popular programs out there:

• You’re “firing on all cylinders”
• You’re “in the zone”
• You’re “psyched, stoked, all fired up”
• Your “mind and body are one”

In a previous blog entry I even called it flow. You can lose track of time, you feel extra creative and energetic, you become focused on something you’re really good at.

I’ve been learning some fantastic tricks to keep myself in this flow all night long. Here is a simple one I read on another blog:

Get a little piece of jewelry that has special meaning for you.: a ring, a necklace, whatever. Then the next time you’re feeling amazing (at the beach, at yoga class, with your boyfriend, or wherever it happens) hold tight to that piece of jewelry. Let the good feeling associate itself with that piece of jewelry. It won’t take but a few times doing this, and then the jewelry itself makes you feel good just because it reminds you so vividly of the time when you felt good before.

One of the benefits of working in the gentlemen’s club industry is the freedom of TIME.

Most clubs do not require a schedule.  The exception to the rule is areas where the larger chains dominate the region, like DejaVu in San Francisco, Spearmint Rhino in Southern California and Ricks in NYC.

For the most part though, strip clubs have open scheduling which and lead many exotic dancers to be  undisciplined because they can come and go when they feel like it. Although that can be fun for a while, it relies on a consistently BUSY club in order to make a steady living.  In this economy, that is hard to find.
One of the things we teach in DancerWealth is the Consistency Hot Button.  One of the MANY ways you can use the consistency hot button is to work a regular schedule. One of the biggest advantages of having regular nights that you work is that you can get regular customers—guys who come in specifically to see you dance. These are some of the most profitable guys you can get because they’re already sold on getting dances from you! There’s no need to warm them up.

To figure out what nights should be your regular schedule, record and look at what nights are most profitable.   Most new dancers assume Friday and Saturday are the best nights to dance because guys with nine-to-five jobs are off work. In some places this is true, but it is not the case in others.

Then, plan your schedule around your most profitable days.    Typically, weather doesn’t matter much, unless you’re in a hurricane. In fact rainy nights can make guys all the more lonely and they’ll seek out the club to keep company, so don’t let a little weather discourage you. Looking at your actual take home cash when you work consistently will show this to be true.

Do you want to improve your stripper salary? If so I’d like to share an exercise I completed this past weekend. In addition to being a coach at SuperStripper Bootcamp, I am also a life-long learner in the self development field. Thus, every few months I take a seminar to not only get ideas for SuperStripper Bootcamp but also to motivate myself to another level.

One of the biggest money making secrets that has been revealed to me is this: it’s not just about learning a new sales trick or system, it’s how you process information on a day to day basis that will either benefit or hinder how you make money on a bigger scale.

So, take out a sheet of paper (or even better, put this in your DancerWealth Journal) you are going to come up with three different answers to three different questions as follows:
1. List three ways that you can make money dancing using skills you already have.
2. List three ways that you can make money dancing using skills you do not already have.
3. List three ways you can make money dancing that is strictly fun.

So what does all this mean? In the first question, I want you to think about the skills you already have and excel at. This might be high-end dancing moves. This might be telling a funny joke, etc. You know your skills, so figure out a new way to make money with those skills that you haven’t thought of before.

With the second question, think about how you can expand your abilities and skills in new horizons. It might be learning a new sales technique, new way of journaling your income levels, or even attending a SuperStripper Live Event!!

Lastly, make a list of what’s fun for you dancing. Surely there must be at least a few. What do you really enjoy about dancing? Create that list and then figure out how you can take those fun things and make money with them.

For some of you, you’re going to breeze right through it. Some of you are going to have a difficult time with this though. That’s okay though! Just stay focused on your paper and the answers will start to formulate in your head. As I said earlier, this may take you up to an hour to accomplish. When you’re done though, a lot of magic will happen for you.

For starters, you’ll have the obvious…nine new systems for making money that YOU created. Not bad. More importantly though, you’ll have opened your mind to new ways of thinking about how you make money and succeed at what you are doing.

Lastly, now that you have this list, give yourself a timeline of implementing all of them. Is it one week? One month? Take your list and assign a deadline next to each of them. Make the deadlines realistic and yet slightly challenging also. Remember, these are things that are going to benefit you so you’ll want to get going on the list rather quickly. It’s not enough to have ideas, it is taking action on them is what is going to set you apart from those wanting to make more money and being someone who actually does.

I’ve been “off” for several months now.  Maybe it was the divorce, maybe it was moving across the country (two and a half times) maybe it was the distraction of my summer fling.  Whatever it was, I found myself doing lots of OTHER things this summer than stripping.  This is not necessarily a bad thing.  We all need time off.

I realized on Friday and Saturday night as the Chicago Bears fans descended on The Lodge with their sports tourism travel dollars: whatever I was lacking was BACK WITH A VENGEANCE!!!  Shelia got her groove back and Avalon found her SuperStripper FLOW!

The Six Steps to Flow in the Strip Club:

1. Treat Your Task as a Game: There should be rules, goals, rewards, and challenges for yourself when you go to work.  There also has to be a way to keep score.  During the busy season I would keep track of how many sales I could close in the last hour.  Then I would write it in my SuperStripper Business Expense Log and challenge myself to beat my personal best record the following night.  The game I play now is a little bit different.

2. Set a Goal Larger than Yourself. Search for deeper motivation that drives you to succeed.  I don’t set a goals based on dollar amounts anymore.  I found that if I set a goal of $500 a night, I would slack once I got there.  Instead I set my goals for making solid contacts with good clientele.  Remember the Pareto Principle applies here.

3. Focus. When you are focused all negative and distracting thoughts disappear.  You forget about everything except for the task at hand.  Practice.  Writing this blog is one way I focus.  It helps me to identify and priortize what I need to work on to build my own businesses.

4. Surrender to the Process: Let go and enjoy.  Focus on the process(entertaining your client), not the outcome (money)

5. Ecstasy. When you have mastered the four steps, a feeling of happiness will accompany your work.  Someone asked me in the locker room why I’m always so happy.  I responded, “Why wouldn’t I be?  I have a profitable business with awesome customers that I honestly enjoy being with.”

6. Peak Productivity. The state of Ecstacy releases unimaginable stores of energy.  You will be surprised what you can accomplish once you enter this zone.  I’ve written before about how depression sets in when one doesn’t have much to do.  I love that I always have some project to keep me busy.  I feel worthless when I’m not working on something productive (there’s my RED again.)
