I couldn’t post a blog earlier today because Myspace was working on it’s blogging platform.

So I watched the stock market slash through several layers of support, bounce back up to kiss the ceiling, and then fall down through the next layer of support.  It was textbook Fibonacci Retracement.  I had my best trading day EVER!!!  I took profits on GOOGLE and moved the stops down on my other positions to lock in profits.

SarahJayne left a great comment for me today about the hokey inspirational stuff I get in my email box.  Sometimes we REALLY need to read positive statements to instill confidence within ourselves.  This comes from the same newsletter:

Bouncy, Bouncy!

I made LOTS of money yesterday when the markets had their biggest fall of my trading career.  I legged into a diagonal spread by selling October puts against the December puts that I own to take advantage of the VIX spike.  Worked like a charm!  I have my mechanical stop loss in to protect my profits, so all in all a GREAT week thus far!  Yippeeee!

After the market closed, I laid out by the pool for a bit. I love that bikini season lasts from February to November here.  One year I even spent my December birthday lounging in the sun!

I still haven’t renewed my Phoenix license yet.  My choices today were: drive downtown or

Holy Cow!

The Dow had the biggest drop EVER today…and I was riveted to my computer.  I bought a lot of puts on the indexes on Friday anticipating a drop.  The Iron Condor looks ugly because of the premium spike in option prices (great time to be an option seller) but the 650 support has not been broken so I’m not too worried.  Just another reason why I don’t buy stocks and/or mutual funds.  They have to go UP to make money on them!

Making Money During a Recession

want to make a 21% return in 6-8 weeks?

I’ve started a study group with some of my close personal friends.  We even have a papertrade account at ThinkorSwim.  It’s fake money, but real life lessons.  We started it with $3000 which is a very realistic starting point for most people.  Shoot me a myspace message or email at azavalon@hotmail.com if you would like to join my study group.

I do this for real in one of my own brokerage accounts.  It is an income strategy called the Iron Condor.  For those of you who have absolutely no clue just look at the following chart.  As long as the graph stays in between the green lines, we make $420 on our $2000 bet.

…but what was he trying to tell me when the SECOND new tire blew out last night on my way home from CCP?  Same driver side rear tire, three times in one week.  There’s NO way it’s co-incidence this time.  I had the top down and luckily no other cars were near me.  This time I got to sit on the 101 Freeway at 1 am.  At least I got speedier service; tow truck companies must have more drivers on call on Saturday night.

Money and How it is Spent

I saw this article on a web board
http://www.theatlantic.com/doc/200807/consumption

A big part of my platform with Dancerwealth and Strip and Grow Rich is to teach financial education to those who otherwise may never be exposed to it.  One of the great things about this country is that ANYONE can create wealth regardless of their age, sex, race, or sexual orientation by acquiring assets.  There is no corporate glass ceiling in investing and big business building.

History Repeats Itself

I was 10 years old the last time the real estate market crashed in 1986.  I don’t remember much, other than my mother telling me “this is why you have to get good grades, go to college and get a steady job with a pension.”  I minored in economics at American University, and learned about the Tax Reform Act  of 1986.  It was the beginning of the transfer of wealth from employees and self-employed persons to business owners and investors.

Multiple Streams of Income

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

For those of you who are not DancerWealth Graduates, the following is a copy of this week’s newsletter written by Adam Sternberg.

One of the things so many new entrepreneurs fail to focus on (exotic dancers included) is the importance of creating multiple streams of income. Sometimes we focus so much on our primary source of income that we fail to see the business opportunities around us that can create a side income or passive income for us. It’s natural to want to give our primary source of income as much attention as possible and yet without taking advantage of our off-time more aggressively to create alternative sources of income, especially in the economy of today, we are letting wads of money slip right though our fingers.

Back to the Daily Grind

I’m a creature of habit and seek comfort in consistency.  I’m so glad I have been able to get back to my normal schedule this week: wake up, check the market, make hubby lunch, work out, and head down to CCP.

I was just talking to my friend Gia who worked last night.  She mentioned there were 40 girls and about 20 customers.  At the end of the night girls were literally cursing and throwing things in the locker room because they were in the hole.  She, on the other hand walked out with a profit.

Reality doesn’t bite that bad.

The Stock Market has been boring me for two weeks now.  I’m glad I sold puts and collected two weeks of time decay instead of buying calls.  This puts theta on my side as the indices bounce around at support.

I got an email from a reader who said that with this recession, she felt like she has been demoted from SuperStripper to SubsistenceStripper.  I thought about that for a while, and realized that some of my habits regarding dancing have shifted as well.  Given the current economic conditions, THAT’S OKAY!  You are still ahead of thousands of Americans who CAN’T even subside on their earnings!
