Susan made a really good comment last week on the More about Personality Type post. She said “I am your TOTAL OPPOSITE, an INFP. Although I’ve had different results and that’s a pretty truncated test. I think we should put this to the test in the club environment sometime and track the differences in our working styles. In the name of science, of course, and not because I think it would be really funny.”

The inner geek in me would LOVE to do this!

Every summer when business is slow, I tend to work on self improvement. Last year I went to several live seminars. This year I am doing more of the freebie online stuff. I found The Enneagram Institute to have a lot of great free resources. Take the Free Personality Profile to discover which of the NINE personality types you are.

Once you have that, you can read about how you perform at work, your best relationship compatibility, and personal development goals should be. All of this information can help you learn what type of club will foster your best working style. The other two links I included because so often our ability to perform at work is limited by problems in our relationships and personal lives. The more you know about your strengths and weaknesses the more you can communicate this to your loved ones to prevent drama.

For example, I am a Three. This tells me that I perform best at jobs where I can be a role model. My best relationships are with Sevens, and my development goals are neatly laid out from Level 1 (the highest functioning level to stive for) and Level 6 (if I was a complete mess)

Again, this is not meant to be a replacement for the DancerWealth Personality Profiling Sales System. It would be impossible to do this with every customer that you meet! Rather, this is just some free stuff that I found and wanted to pass along to those who are interested.

I mean really make?

It seems this is a question a lot of laid off women are googling, as I get several hits a day from search engines on this topic alone.

My answer: anywhere from -$100 to +$2000. It all depends on your skill level. In my career, I have walked out negative $27 once. That was because I started to get a migraine about 30 minutes into my shift. I did two or three dances, and then had to leave. My best night EVER was roughly $6600 (3 hours @ $400/hr plus a $5k chip from Ceasars) in 2004. I haven’t come close to that ever again.

If you are new to dancing, or have been thinking about trying it for the first time. Here is an assortment of old blogs that address this topic.

How long until I become a SuperStripper?

And this post for all the women who are wondering “Am I thin/pretty/busty enough to be a stripper?”

The Tanning Factor is something that evolved from a conversation I had with a new entertainer. She was always stressed about making her rent at the end of the month, but had a beautiful golden sunkissed tan. She wanted to get on a good financial track, but swore that there was just no way she could save money. Admittedly, she was a SubsistenceStripper in the sense that she worked just to pay her bills and didn’t have much left over to save. A few days later in another conversation, she revealed that she paid $5 per bed tanning session and $10 per spray tan. I asked her if she had a monthly membership and she said “No, I travel a lot between different cities so I just pay per session”

The funniest part is that she lived in Arizona and traveled mostly to Las Vegas and Los Angeles where there is plenty of free sunshine!! As a SuperStripper, I understand the value of a good tan but my point is to analyze your spending. The point of The Tanning Factor is that every stripper makes enough money to become a SuperStripper. What keeps us in SubsistenceStripper status is that we spend more than we make on stuff we don’t need! The amount of money you are throwing away on Tanning, Bottled Water, Eating out and other non-essentials is your Tanning Factor. If you were to take all that money and save it, your life will change sooner than you think!

If you live in an area with limited sunshine, and you absolutely MUST tan…buy a membership. It will save you money overall. I have an awesome spray tan membership for $35/month at Sunchain here in AZ. I get four spray tans a month. Even though the salon is 25 miles from my house, I just stop on my way into work once a week. I can’t in good conscious recommend bed tanning to anyone. I’ve had several moles removed, and I slather on the sunscreen.

Oh, and save the billing statement for the card your membership is charged to…it’s tax deductible as part of your costume.

I sent my check off this morning. But that’s just part of what you have to do in order to run a legitimate business. Stripping IS a legal and legitimate business. If you want to reap the benefits of being able to make SuperStripper money, you have to be responsible and claim your SuperStripper money! Only then can you begin to invest and grow your SuperStripper Money.

The main benefit of filing a tax return is having proof of income. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard in the dressing room “I need a new car, and I can afford $500/month payment…but I can’t get a loan because I have no proof of income. I hope my customer will co-sign for me.” It is extremely liberating to be able to do these things on your own, without having to ask for favors or owe anyone for doing you a favor. Proof of income will also enable you to buy your own home, open and fund a retirement account, NOT have to pay extra deposit fees when you open a cell phone account or utility account.

If you are new to stripping, have never filed a tax return, or maybe your parents are still claiming you as a dependent…DON’T just let it go and do nothing. DancerWise is here to help. I have been selling a tax planner in the StripandGrowRich merchandise store for over a year now. Here is 2009 version of the planner.

As for all the Tax Day Tea Parties going on around the county, no I don’t agree with how the government is spending our tax dollars….but it doesn’t mean that I’m not going to pay them.

Not only are my S&P shorts underwater, I did some Stripper Math according to yesterday’s article about Sapphire’s in Vegas

Just a little math to chew on:
400 girls @ $60/night house fee is $24,000/night revenue from house fees alone. Open for business 365 days a year

That is $8,760,000 in house fee revenue annually

Now, not every night has 400 girls working.

Lets lowball it:

If 100 girls are working every night that is $6,000/night in housefees or $2,190,000 collected annually from house fees

If 200 girls are working every night that is $12,000/night in housefees or $4,380,000 in collected annually from house fees

And that is without ever selling a drink, collecting a door fee, or funny money fees.

That is just ONE club.

I orginally posted this Stripper Math Blog in Sept 2007

A little quick math indicates just how important strip clubs are to the overall economy of Las Vegas.*

There are over 40 strip clubs in Las Vegas. A large club like The Spearmint Rhino easily has over 500 total dancers trickle in through it’s doors in any 24 hour time period. Granted, it is one of the larger clubs in Clark County; as is Sapphires, Scores, and Olympic Gardens. Some of the smaller lounges like Play it again Sam, Glitter Gultch, and Leopard Lounge may only have 50 total dancers in a 24 hour period.

So, lets take a lowball estimate that each strip club has a daily average of 100 dancers working during a 24 hour period.

100 dancers/day x 40 clubs

Lets really lowball the average take home pay of a Las Vegas stripper and say $350. All strippers have good nights ($2500) and bad nights (didn’t make enough to cover house fee)

100 dancers x 40 clubs x $350 = 1.4 Million Dollars

Yep, thats right. $1.4 million dollars in cold hard cash is slipped into g-strings in a single day. Strip clubs are open 24/7/365.

$4.1 million dollars x 365 = $511 million per year

This is just in Las Vegas, NV. Last time I checked, there were strip clubs in New York, San Francisco, Miami, and even Bozeman, MT.

The house always wins.

What Is a Rich Woman?
I hear women say, “I’m rich in spirit,” “I’m rich in family and friends,” and “My life experiences make me rich.” And I agree with each of these interpretations. You can have a very rich life, but that alone doesn’t make you a rich woman.

When I talk about being rich in this column, I’m talking about one thing: money. I’m talking about investing, cash flow and taking charge of your financial life.

A rich woman is a woman dedicated to taking control of her financial life. She isn’t depending on someone else–a husband, a boss, a family member or the government–to take care of her.

A rich woman isn’t someone who marries just for money, and she doesn’t stay in an unhealthy marriage because she’s afraid she can’t take care of herself financially. A rich woman doesn’t goes to work day in and day out to a job she can’t stand. A rich woman doesn’t agonizes over not spending enough time with her children. And a rich woman doesn’t allow her self-esteem to shrivel because she constantly subordinates herself to her husband or boss because they control the money.

Why Be a Rich Woman?
I write and speak this message because I believe that today, more than ever, women must take charge of their own financial lives. In my opinion, a woman can’t be free until she’s financially free.

I’m often asked, “Is there really a difference between men and women when it comes to money and investing?” The answer is: No. And yes. The how-tos of investing–how to find a good rental property, how to know when to buy and sell a stock, how to spot great business opportunities–are the same for men and women. What’s different are the issues women face in the world of money and investing. The following statistics clearly illustrate some of these issues:

Nearly half of women over the age of 50 are single. This means that many of these women are responsible for their own financial well-being.

One out of every two marriages ends in divorce. What is the number-one thing couples fight about? Money. And who usually ends up with the children? The woman. Now she must provide for herself–and her kids.

In the first year following divorce, a women’s standard of living drops an average of 73 percent.

In 2003, more women declared bankruptcy than graduated college.

Fifty-eight percent of baby boomer women have less than $10,000 set aside for retirement.

Of the elderly living in poverty, three out of four are women. Yet 80 percent of these women weren’t poor when their husbands were alive.

These statistics tell me that many of us women haven’t been educated about money, much less investing. We haven’t been expected to know anything on the subject. Unfortunately, too many of us, especially as we get older, are finding ourselves in dire financial consequences. This needs to change.

It’s Your Choice
Which do you want, financial independence or financial dependence? Investing, whether it be in real estate, paper assets or businesses, isn’t rocket science. It simply takes some time and education. And I’ll talk about that in future articles.

Financial independence is about much more than money. It’s about self-esteem, dignity, better relationships and more meaning in your life. Ultimately, it’s about having the freedom to get out there and do what it is you truly want to do in life.

In all honesty, I have been enjoying my time off, working on other projects, and relying on my other streams of income.

I’m not saying this to try to impress you, but rather to impress upon you that anyone can do what I am doing. Its not easy, or instantaneous, but it is one method to walk away from this industry The Victor.

The strip clubs are slow this time of year. So you have two choices: go in and do your best or stay home and pout. By applying the proper strategies taught at Dancerwealth.com, you will walk out with more money than you went in with. I had a really slow last week, but I was overall profitable, which is what matters most.

If you are a SubsistenceStripper or a JobStripper with the monthly bills still unpaid AND Christmas presents left to buy…think about how nice it would be if you didn’t have to pull your hair out each month to make ends meet.

It’s never too late to start learning how to create other streams of income to offset these slow times.

Remember when I talked about a Fixed vs a Growth Mindset? It’s important for everyone to open their minds and take notice when opportunities present themselves. Trading isn’t rocket science. Anyone can trade the stock market, it doesn’t require a college degree. It doesn’t discriminate against age, race, sex, or disability. There is no glass ceiling. All you need is patience, persistence, and the ability to follow a set of rules. Oh, and 3 grand to open an account.

I was talking to a very intelligent friend of mine (who is also a stripper) She said she just wasn’t interested in the stock market.
Avalon: Really, are you all that interested in stripping?
Her: Not Really, but it’s easy money
Avalon: Easier than clicking a mouse twice?

Personally, I can make myself get interested in anything that shows potential to make a profit. There are a lot of boring things that make money: I’m sure the person who invented shrinkwrap packaging wasn’t really all that interested in it.

I guess it’s all perspective.

It’s obvious that this economy has been a GameChanger. Not only for strippers, but for anyone who isn’t independently wealthy. As I mentioned above, my lapdance sales revenue (aka dancing income) is down 20% from this time last year. I have very well educated friends who have held 6 figure jobs for several years, and are now collecting unemployment with no decent job offers in sight and a 401K that lost 40% of it’s value. All because they didn’t stay on top of the rules of the Money Game. When the rules changed, they were left h

I wrote 4 months ago that Money is a Drug. Once you become accustomed to earning money in a certain way, it is difficult to break that mold and learn how to make money a different way.

So what is it going to take for you to break free of whatever Quadrant you are stuck in?

1. Went to one of the first www.dancerwealth.com seminars that Adam conducted five years ago. It completely shifted my way of thinking from a wage or hourly based employee mindset to a business owner mindset.

2. I cashed out the equity in my home to pay for my PhD education at www.investools.com and spend much of the last two and a half years observing and learning how to trade the stock market. The other option I was evaluating in May 2006 was purchasing a rental property.

3. I lost 30 lbs last year and got down to my lowest weight since high school. It wasn’t easy, but it showed me that it was possible and I my body could get below a certain threshold that I was convinced could not be broken.

Stupidest
1. I stuck around at a club that only offered $10 dances and $250/hour Champagne Rooms during the Real Estate Boom. I should have been doing my Vegas runs and working at Babes during this time. $20 dances add up a lot quicker than $10 dances.

2. I completely blew up two accounts learning how to trade. I have since not only gotten my money back, but it’s higher than when I started. I think blowing up (for you non-traders, that means LOSING every single dollar you started with) an account is just something every trader has to do in order to learn respect for the market.

3. I found 10 of the 30 lbs I lost last year, and am hovering at that dreaded threshold again. I worked out for FOUR hours today. I know I can break that threshold again.

Off to buy a turkey now….
