Is not as packed as World of Concrete 2008. I think that is par for the course for many of the conventions this year. Apparently Obama’s infrastructure overhaul has created lots of government initiatives and incentives that the concrete companies are scrambling over. Hopefully, they will be sealing deals in the VIP room the next few nights.
I overcame my mental obstacle yesterday. Often, my inspirational posts are an effort to re-program my own thinking. I was frustrated because The Whale cancelled on me last minute, and I was expecting an easy 10 hours in VIP over a few nights. I know, boo-hoo, poor SuperStripper…cry your eyes out for me. The evening began when I stepped on the floor. I saw a round faced older gentleman sitting alone and made him my first target. However the young couple next to him flagged me down first. “Dance for her,” the mid twentyish kid said while handing me a twenty. She was about 5 foot 1 and a size 0. Usually petite women look for other petite women, but she sat back in the chair, and said “I always wanted to be tall and curvy!” We always want what we don’t have. I’m in the first trimester of my longest work stint yet. Thus my posts have not been very original.
I was expecting the same fabulous forty and over crowd this week for FBR. That hasn’t been the case, and thus my first two nights were not stellar. Keep in mind, they were profitable which is essential for keeping a business going considering the plethora of businesses like the nations 2nd largest electronics retailer Circuit City which could not turn a profit.

Someone asked me how Panda got his blog name. He picked it. In his own words “Because everyone thinks pandas are so cute and so sweet….but get into the cage with ‘em and….they’re still A BEAR!”

Good things come to those who work their a$$ off….
Babe’s was steady all night long with Iggles Fans. I even resurrected my accent to trigger their Friendship Hot Button. I never had a very thick Philly accent, but at times water comes out “wood-er” and the plural of you is “yous” or “yous guys.”
Met a bunch of guys who drove down from Vegas to watch the Iggles play. Also ran into a guy who was the bouncer at Mr. J’s in Orange County. He was “too cool” to buy a dance. C’mon…just because you worked in the industry at some point doesn’t mean you’re too cool to purchase the service that once supported your own livelihood. Read more... I’m getting old. Even compared to last year when I worked 7 days in a row for the Superbowl I don’t think I was this cranky….maybe I should go back and read those blogs from last year to check! After five hours of sleep, teaching spin class, extra cardio, and watching my 3 long ES futures contracts zoom back up into positive profits, I took a nap.
The problem with naps is that I wake up crankier and stiffer than I was BEFORE I took the nap. So I played a little bit of tennis ball in the sun with the retrievers. I don’t normally work on Thursdays. I need a day of recovery to hit the Fri/Sat crowd with 110% effort. But since Barrett-Jackson is in town, and it’s easy money, I forced myself to go in. Decided to break in a new pair of shoes. It was time: every three months I put the old pair up for auction on ebanned.com and use the profits to buy a new pair of stripper shoes.
8pm: clock in. 3 customers. The lone Asian man sitting stage side tips me a dollar. He is in town from Hong Kong on business. His English is good, but the conversation is rather elementary. Wednesdays have turned into my long day. It used to be Monday. I worked out with my personal trainer at 4pm, then did half an hour of cardio. Shower, change, spray tan, and arrive at Babes. I prefer to get ready at home, rather than in the dressing room of the strip club. House Fees have been re-instated at Babe’s Cabaret. It was nice to have free house for the first two weeks of the month. They didn’t have to do that, and they achieved the desired result (lots of girls showing up from other clubs to work because it was free) Back to $40 at 8pm. I am very impressed with the annual report they printed out for me last night which includes total house fees paid and total funny money tendered. Read more... Earlier in the day, this SuperStripper retreived her Business Expense Log books from 2003-2008 to review her notes on the Fiesta Bowl Crowd. I vaguely recalled game night being slow until the game was over. Then it was just a matter of time: how long would it take them to get out of the parking lot and to the club? In 2003, my first year in AZ, the game went into double overtime, and the last call was at 1am. We sat around for 5 hours to have a rush of people through the doors at 12:30, and only thirty minutes to sell dances.
