About Avalon

I was an elementary school teacher, until I couldn’t afford to eat. My paycheck just barely covered rent, car payment and insurance. I fell into dancing with the idea of “just until I finish graduate school and pay off Visa….” That was almost a decade ago. Since then, I have embraced the industry and all the opportunities that it offers smart, business-savvy women who are willing to stand up to the societal stereotypes. During the dot.com craze, I was making great money and didn’t know what to do with it. The more I made, the more I spent, with most of it going towards rent in California. By 2002 I was drowning in consumer debt and filed for bankruptcy. I identified my mistakes, vowed to never make them again, and began my personal journey towards financial literacy. In January 2004 I took the Naked Assets DancerWealth sales training class in Las Vegas. Although there have been several copy-cats, Naked Assets is the Original Stripper Sales Training School founded by Adam Sternberg that has been featured in Playboy Magazine, 20/20, and CityLife Magazine. Taking the DancerWealth course was the turning point of my dancing career. Afterwards, I began to experience massive success at closing lapdance and champagne room sales. DancerWealth also inspired me to begin my own journey into personal development. I started with the book Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. Three years later I began blogging about how to be a successful stripper on Myspace. I even coined the term “SuperStripper” to describe the mindset and process of running a stripping business. The blog blossomed into a fabulous community of like-minded entertainers and those who aspired to become a SuperStripper. In May of 2008, I assumed majority ownership of Naked Assets. In addition to the original DancerWealth course, I created the DancerWise and DancerVictory courses to coach entertainers towards SupperStripperdom. My personal goal is to continue dancing until I am Financially Free. This means that I have enough passive income from my investments to cover my living expenses. Becoming a SuperStripper has been a life changing experience for me. When I'm old and bleached blonde, I'll reflect on my stripper experience with fond memories and positive thoughts. Despite the social stigma of being "a stripper" I revel in proving them wrong!

Stripper School: Technology101

By Kylea Killeen

I know “Strippers & Technology” seems like an oxymoron, right? Have a laugh at it, but the truth is that technology & the internet are making the work of many strippers much easier! While it is true that with technology we are competing with new forms of entertainment (xobile bringing porn to your iPhone/Blackberry/etc, streaming web porn, fleshlight with practically interactive video, webcam girls) nothing will ever fully replace in person entertainment & touch from another human being. The ability to create a connection to the psyche in addition to live human touch (particularly that of a loving nature)  is a very strong form of entertainment for many people, & one that exotic dancers provide almost everyday that they work.

Stripper Wages: How much money do strippers make?

money e1284829717711 300x225 Stripper Wages: How much money do strippers make?In the current recession, there are hundreds of women who have turned to stripping to make ends meet for their families.  Despite the decrease in overall strip club attendance and spending, their new career wages are comparable to some very esteemed professions.

I get asked all the time, “How much money do strippers make?”  Well, it varies from a good night to a bad night, but suppose a stripper only averages $200/shift and she works 4x a week.  That is $800/week or $40k per year.  If she works 5x a week that is $1000/week or $50k per year.

10 Things I’ve Learned about becoming a SuperStripper

avalon150 200 10 Things I’ve Learned about becoming a SuperStripper

1.Becoming a SuperStripper is mainly a process of “self-education”. While there are WONDERFUL resources online (ie, StripperWeb, Exoticdancernet, and of course StripandGrowRich), it is still ultimately up to YOU to learn and apply your knowledge. There is no test – no real certification – that says “pass” or “fail”. We determine our own success…. and we determine our own failure. Fear of failure AND fear of success can be the biggest obstacles in this business.

Best Strip Clubs for Strippers

Long live the Blue Dot Cities!!

If you have added Rebecca Avalon as a Facebook Friend, you may have already seen this map.  I came across it as I was reading about my new hometown of Dallas, TX being listed in the top 10 Best Cities for Single Women.  Apparently Dallas is one of the few cities in the nation where the women outnumber the men.  According to this map, there are 40,000 more single men than single women in Dallas.

My first thought was…no wonder the strip clubs are always packed!

Stripper Salary-Three Ways to INCREASE it

The first method is trial and error.  Unlike chain restaurants, department stores, and even call centers…when you get hired as an exotic dancer, there is NO formal sales training.  I remember when I was hired as a waitress at Cheesecake Factory.  I had to sit through an entire week of training videos and classes that explained how to upsell appetizers, specials, and premium liquor so  that a $40 check turned into a $100 check.  In the strip club, you are just thrown right into the mix of things.  If you have enough perseverance you will figure out what works, and what doesn’t work, and over time your stripper salary will increase.  I know firsthand how frustrating it is to try to make money this way!  Especially if you are impatient and want to make more money NOW!

Stripper School 101

When you decide that you are ready to begin a career in dancing there are many things that you need to know prior to going and getting hired at a club of your choice. The first thing you want to do is go to a club that you are thinking of working at as a customer during the desired shift that you wish to work. You want to see what the club looks like, who the customers are, what the other dancers are like and if it is a place you can see yourself spending a decent amount of time at.

diploma 300x300 The Most Important Stripper School Lesson

As an exotic dancer, it is more important to be trusted rather than liked.

It is important to know that some industries by nature, there is an element of distrust the customer has with their salesperson. This is true in used car sales, and it’s true in gentlemens’ clubs. As a dancer, it is important to be aware of this fact and use it to your advantage. Understand that when you first approach a customer in your club, it is VERY important to make him comfortable. If he is comfortable, he will trust you.

How Strippers Exploit the Madonna/Whore Complex

First let me give my definition of the Madonna/Whore Complex.  I use the more mainstream definition, rather than Freud’s spin on it. Why?  Because Freud was a behaviorist who proported psychic determinism and allow us to blame other people both past and present for our current decisions.  Personally I  favor Viktor Frankel’s theory of self-determinism, which basically says that YOU control your own destiny, even if your parents didn’t do the best job raising you.

So, my definition of the Madonna/Whore Complex:

Men classify all women into one of only two categories: either evil sexual temptress, or good and pure saint; a woman has to be one or the other.

Ya’ll Come down to Dallas Now!

I may have lost the Philly accent, but not the sarcasm.
