I schedule Saturday and Sunday of Bootcamp to be less hectic than the weekdays. Saturday morning we woke up and went to Bikram Yoga, my favorite 90 minute detoxifying workout. Usually it invigorates me…today it knocked me out. Literally, I took a 3 hour nap afterwards.
Later in the afternoon I was in a quandary. I was getting my monthly migraine, but I knew the Saturday night crowd was going to be fun and profitable.
It didn’t take long to make the executive decision though: when I had to take breaks from doing my makeup to massage my temples and neck to calm the stabbing pain behind my eye, I figured it was NOT a good idea to force myself into work.
There is a difference between being physically tired, mentally tired, and downright ill. When I am physically tired, I can easily drink a Monster Lo Carb and rock the crowd. When I am mentally tired, I have a routine to change my mental state and rock the crowd. When I am downright ill….I listen to my body and give it what it needs (usually rest) before I make it worse. So I drove the BootCampers to work, came home to sleep for 5 hours, then picked them up and we did the “post-game wrap up” in the car on the way home. This is when we discuss what situations occurred during the night, the strategies they used, how that strategy worked or didn’t work, and how they could do it better next time. Of course the 6 guys drunk driving the golf cart around the Babe’s Parking Lot was also a funny topic of discussion….
I love my role as SuperStripper Coach!
