If you don’t follow the national headlines: Unemployment reached a 26 year high last week. Officially 10.2% of the nation is unemployed, the worst since 1983. For my fellow SuperStrippers in training who entered the business in 2005, the unemployment rate was roughly 5.0%. If you are wondering why the “Wanna Dance?” strategy that used to work so well a few years ago aren’t working right now…it might be because customers are holding onto their $20s until the right SuperStripper convinces him that he wants a dance more than he wants that Jackson.
Not so ironically, guess what Google told me: the top hits on my blog this week came from the search engine terms
- “”how much do strippers make”
- “how much does a stripper make”
- “how to sell lap dances”
- “how much does the average stripper make”
- “how do strippers make so much money”
- and my personal favorite…. “how much do stripers make”
It’s a good thing that passing a spelling test is not a requirement at most clubs because there was more than one hit (several actually) by women who cannot spell the job for which they are seeking information.
We have an assortment of articles that answer this question at How Much Money Do Strippers Make if you are researching what it is like to be an entertainer. It is not surprising that women entering the Gentlemens Club Industry is at an all time HIGH when unemployment is also soaring. As many veteran dancers will attest, the money is not as easy to make as it once was and entertainers have to be on top of their game to walk out with a profit some nights.
