Synchronicity

In not referring to the 1983 album by The Police, but rather the 1952 psychology text written by Carl Jung.  I happened to find it one night last week when I was poking through some of my boxes in a closet at Mom’s house.  I wrote a term paper on it for a psychology class 15 years ago.  I couldn’t find the term paper, but finding the text got the wheels spinning in my head: and since then I have been noticing some mind blowing synchronous events daily!

We have all heard the expressions, “There are no accidents”  and “Everything happens for a reason.”  Some people call it Karma, or destiny, or a divine act of God.  Regardless I believe that if your intentions are good the people, places and events that you attract into your life all help you evolve into a better person.

By definition, synchronicity is when two or more completely unrelated events occur together in a meaningful manner.  It could be pure co-incidence:  you go somewhere that is difficult to find parking, and someone is pulling out of a spot and you pull right in.  It could be simultaneous discovery:  two people who have never met come up with the same idea. And sometimes there are just so many unrelated co-incidences  that you just have to shake your head and say, “Wow!”

Jung wrote, after describing some examples, “When coincidences pile up in this way, one cannot help being impressed by them — for the greater the number of terms in such a series, or the more unusual its character, the more improbable it becomes.”

I met a fellow stripper at Delilah’s on Saturday night.  His name was “Laser.” He used stripping to pay for school, invest, and now works in Finance and trades the markets (sound familiar?)  Earlier that day Donovan and I were brainstorming how we could expand stripandgrowrich.com to appeal to male strippers.
