Can you believe it’s March already? Time flies! And the weather is FABULOUS in the desert this time of year!
I kicked off the 2009 Bikini Season on Friday by enjoying the after-market-close rays in my new green bikini. I have this bathing suit in EVERY color, and GREEN is my color for 2009.
SarahJayne made an interesting comment in the Survival of the Fittest Post. She mentioned that to succeed in our business during this down economy entertainers are going to have to be on top of our game. I agree.
I came across this article Downsized Executives forced to take Survival Jobs on CNBC. The clubs have always been a revolving door, and I feel this economy is going to entice former female executives who never imagined they would have to slip on stilettos and a gstring to pay their mortgage. Kudos to them, they will walk into the industry with the SuperStripper mentality, corporate sales training under their belt, and the dedication to work consistently through an 8 hour shift despite downtime.
However, this presents enormous competition to JobStrippers, StudentStrippers, SupplementalStrippers, and SubsistenceStrippers who lack sales skills, determination, and the abundance mentality. The days where you can just walk into the club and mindlessly hop from lap to lap selling $20 dances are over. I predict clubs will get stricter on hiring standards (because more and more attractive women will be applying) and many SubsistenceStrippers will be let go because an attractive former executive who can sell is a more desirable candidate than the drunk SubsistenceStripper who sits in the dressing room and complains that “it’s not like it used to be.”
Speaking of staying fit…I’m going back to the gym for my second 90 minute work-out of the day. Oh, and remember how Ali from the PinkTeam took my spin class all last spring after she got booted off the show…she sent this season’s Blue Team to my Spin class this morning. I should probably watch it sometime…
