Survival of the Fittest

Wall Street Slumps to Six Months of Losses. February alone the indexes are down 11% for the month, the worst February since 1933.

My brokerage account is up 46% this month.

I’m not bragging…rather this is telling me that I am highly overpositionsized. Anytime a trader brags about their returns, they usually get their @$$ handed to them the following session. I have been eerily in synch with the market. That also tells me that I’m about to be very wrong very soon because it’s just not statistically likely to have 46% returns in a month. January I had a 9% return in the same futures trading account.

ANYONE can do this. You don’t have to have a college degree in finance, you don’t have to get hired at a brokerage firm. All you need is 3 grand to open an account, and the dedication to learn a system.

I titled today’s post “Survival of the Fittest” because I feel in today’s economy the Financially Fittest Individuals are going to survive, while those who cling to the traditional way of doing things are going to unfortunately find themselves bagging groceries at the age of 90.

Same for strippers…do you have the skills to make money in the WORST economy this country has seen in 7 decades? Using the Pareto Principal, about 20% do. The other 80% do not. I forsee many clubs will close in the next 3 years; there is already internet chatter about 3 well known Vegas institutions that will probably close their doors after the spring convention season…which will leave thousands of Vegas strippers competing for spots at the existing clubs. I also wonder if the revenue-hungry IRS will institute payroll taxes on strippers, thus turning us from cash-based independent contractors to full fledged employees. I won’t be surprised if something like this surfaces down the road.

This is not meant to scare you, but rather to inform you to begin formulating a plan because if you don’t Learn to Roll With the Changes and adapt, you will not survive.

I’m off to Babes Cabaret for the first official weekend of Spring Training!
