For those of you who aren’t aware, Halloween is a big milestone day for me every year. It my 9 Year Anniversary of Stripping. Oh yes, Halloween 1999 I began this fateful career at The Spearmint Rhino in Upland CA. I wrote this blog about my first night a long time ago. Last year I celebrated with Cartoon Carl at Scores in Vegas.
It was also the night Mr. V and I left San Francisco in 2002. I remember driving across the Bay Bridge as the throngs of Halloween revelers were going the other direction, wondering what the future held for us in Arizona.
Now it marks the day I started at Babes Cabaret. It rocked. Both Lia and Adam told me that everything happens for a reason. It does. I wrote a blog last May about seeking out your environment. At the time I referring to the supportive coaching environment I had found with Worldventures, but I can also apply it here. If you are trying to be successful in a strip club environment that lacks support, training, and open communication, you are doomed to eventually fail. I was able to block out all the negative influences and obstacles at CCP for the last four years as the club slid deeper downhill. As long as I made my SuperStripper sales quota off of the foot traffic and my established customer base, I stayed. Since May I had been beating a dead horse, and I’m so glad I found an environment that is more conducive to my business.
My first night at Babes: I mentioned it rocked. I was greeted by Mike Brady stageside during my first set (I just spent an hour looking for the link to the night I met Mike Brady last year…couldn’t find it) We hung out for two hours catching up on things. Then CornhuskersFan and Ordell popped in to say hi. Then I met Lance from New York City. He was a very generous tipper. Every time he asked me to run over and tip the girl onstage $20, he gave me $20….every two songs. Then I met Styles from St. Louis. He just moved here from New Orleans. I swear we’ve met before, he looks soooo familiar.
DJ Billy was cranking the Van Halen for me and the energy in the club was what CCP used to be 4 years ago. It’s a lot easier to make money when you are having fun in a great environment with friends. Oh, and $20 dances add up a lot faster than $10 ones. I made more last night at Babes than I did my last 4 shifts combined at Christie’s! My SuperStripper mojo is renewed and I can’t wait to go back tonight!
Thank you everyone who commented and emailed me their feedback to my last blog.
