The world is getting smaller! I got a myspace message from “Matt” who said he was going to be in town for the Superbowl. I of course offered VIP passes to Christie’s Cabaret to c’mon down, all I needed was a contact name. Then “Matt” revealed his true identity…a college friend who lived 3 doors down from me in co-ed Letts Hall at AU. I just knew I was going to run into people from my “real” life this week! Oh well, I’ve accepted the fact that my real world and Avalon’s world have slowly begun morphing into one.
I was talking about this with Mustang and Rogue last week in the locker room. We entertainers assume personalities that really aren’t all that different from who we really are….just must more confident and outgoing. After all, it takes balls to get onstage in front of hundreds of people and strip down to a gsting and heels. You can always tell a new dancer, she is afraid to make eye contact with the crowd. Or she dances very fast like she was in a dance club. Sometimes the blank face is alcohol or substance induced. Other times it is just her way of blocking out the reality that she is doing something that her family wouldn’t be proud of.
Assuming a stronger persona in the form of a stage name is how I bolstered my confidence. Sometimes in my personal life when I wanted to revert to my natural introverted tendencies, I would think “What would Avalon do?” Voila! Out of my shell I came.
I was also right about Phoenix PD. I heard through the grapevine that a few outta town girls got lap dance tickets last night. I can’t help but smirk. When you travel out of town know your sexually oriented business laws!
