Stripper Licenses are the dumbest thing ever. Every September I have to go down to City Hall, pay my $25 fee, have my picture taken, and hand my license over to Christie’s.
I’ve had a few background checks run since Phoenix started licensing in 2004. I also have a Las Vegas Sheriff’s Card dating back to 2001. It’s never been an issue. I’ve never not gotten hired (at a gym) because I was a stripper.
I used to worry about future implications of having a stripper license on my record. What if I’d never be able to get a job teaching school again? Well, after dancing for several principals, school district superintendants, school board presidents….I’m not worried. I have a shoe box full of contacts that are chomping at the bit to hired a teacher that is not only certified in Math/Science, but has a Masters Degree and 4 years experience.
I’m just not ready to work for peanuts again.
Off to city hall…..
